Today, the November 12th, is the National Day of Uyghurs and other Turkic people of “East Turkistan”. In recent history, Uyghur people built the independent state of “East Turkistan” twice on November 12th of 1933 and 1944 in Kashgar city and Gulja city respectively . On this day, Uyghur people demonstrated their desire for freedom, love for utmost democracy, and a spirit of independence of the people of “East Turkistan” to the world. Gained by the blood and sacrifices of thousands of martyrs, this holy day has been commemorated and cherished by our people in various forms as it’s the symbol of national independence of Uyghurs and a spiritual nourishment for restoration of independent state of “East Turkistan”. In this regard, a commemoration ceremony of “National Day of East Turkistan” will be held on November 14th in Amsterdam Dam Square. Happy National Day to all!
