It is common knowledge that concentration camps and open genocide appeared again in East Turkestan (aka Xinjiang) and mainly Uyghurs and other Turkic people have been targeted since Jewish genocide during the World War 2. And yet, many nations and enterprises have been turning blind eyes on this hideous crime. One recent example of world ignorance on this issue can be seen from latest Disney’s movie — Mulan.
This movie was partly filmed in East Turkestan (aka Xinjiang) where millions of Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples have been detained in concentration camps or imprisoned. At the same time, this film aimed to promote nationalism and ethnic Han chauvinism which advocate China’s aggressive efforts to assimilate other ethnic groups, leading to rapid cultural erosion. Furthermore, the film started filming in 2017, when the Chinese oppression over Uyghurs peaked up. It can be seen from her Instagram post of Niki, a desert landscape with a captain of Asia / Urumqi, the capital city of East Turkestan (aka Xinjiang) in September 2017. Besides, Disney thanked eight government entities in East Turkestan (aka Xinjiang) including police bureau in Turpan, which was blacklisted by US last October as it involved in and played major role in mass detentions of Uyghurs and considered an accomplice of genocide over Uyghurs. It is a clear picture that all propaganda aiming to promote human rights and democracy compromised for economic. We, as human being, should understand if we can’t make the world a better place to live, if the humanity died in this way, then the justice would lose the purpose of its existence. Once Martin Luther King Jr. said “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”.
So I call all humans, enterprises and nations don’t exchange your souls with temporary economic benefits and act together to stop this ongoing genocide.
